Playground: poems by Margie Shaheed
In this collection, the neighborhood bar is an adult playground. The metaphor is extended by a motif which includes children’s rhymes and references to toys and games. The language is gritty in spots, and sometimes profane, but always life-affirming.

Margie Shaheed is a community poet, writer, and teaching artist. She is the author of Mosaic (NightBallet Press, 2013) and Onomatopoeia (NightBallet Press, 2015).
